Christmas Extravaganza Gift Guide

CHRISTMAS EXTRAVAGANZA GIFTS SLIDER-01

Earlier this week we shared our favorite Christmas-time recipes, and today we’re sharing our favorite things! Think of it as an Oprah-style blog post. (Except we’re giving away none of it.) Our hope is that this will jump-start some shopping ideas for you, or help you get unstuck for that one person you just can never figure out what you should get!

Do you have some favorite things you’d like to share, too? Write your post and link it up at the bottom of this post!

SARA’S PICKS

The Vintage Pearl. If you are looking for unique jewelry that can fit any budget, Vintage Pearl is the place to shop. I am ordering a ring for my daughter this Christmas. This company has also partnered up with people like Jen Hatmaker to raise funds for good causes.

Bath and Body Works. A go-to gift for me each Christmas is Bath and Body Works. Their little travel sized hand sanitizers make the perfect gifts for teachers and friends and are a great stocking stuffer. And of course their hand soaps are perfect for those who like to change their soaps with the season. My favorite for the fall was Pumpkin Spice Latte!

Five Below. If you have a Five Below in your area you must check it out! They have most amazing selection of items all $5 and under. This is the perfect place for stocking stuffers or for gifts that you might be buying for children in need. You will get the best bang for your buck!

AMBER’S PICKS

Hooded Cashmere Cozy. My sister sells these at DKNY and apparently there’s like 150,000,000 different ways to wear them! They’re super soft and live up to their name for sure! Co-zy!

COZY SWEATSHIRT

Gold & Black Polka Dot PJ’s from TargetThere’s something about Christmas that makes me want to wear adorable Pajamas ALL the time! I like these because, Yes, they do have a Christmasy feel to them… but they aren’t so outrageously Christmas that you can’t wear them all year long if you want to!

PJS

Jamberry NailsA friend of mine recently turned me on to these! There are tons of different wraps to choose from and they’re not super expensive! These would make a great gift for a daughter, niece, or sister this year!

JAMBERRY NAILS

A Muppet Christmas Carol. A Muppet Christmas Carol is one of my all time favorite Christmas movies! Andy and I watch it every year… Let’s be honest, you can’t go wrong with a Christmas musical with Kermit the Frog! There is a precious song that Tiny Tim sings as a prayer asking for blessings and I tear up every time. Love. Love. Love.

Letters from a Skeptic by Gregory BoydGreg Boyd is not only one of my favorite speakers and pastors, he is also a brilliant writer! Andy and I have read several of his books, but this one is my favorite! It actually isn’t a book as much as it is a series of letters between him and his atheist father. Dr. Boyd presents a profound defense of Christianity in a loving, and thoughtful way. It is in fact these letters that were a catalyst for his father coming to know Jesus. I would recommend this book as a gift for any Seeker friends or family members you may have!

MONICA’S PICKS

Yurbuds. These are amazing earphones that sort of “lock” into place and will not come out while you’re exercising, or being active, or just cleaning the house and tuning out every last bloody noise while you do it. (Ahem). The prices start at $20 and go up, depending on if you want a microphone on it (to talk on the phone) or even want wireless. And you can get different sized silicone parts to fit your ear better.

Birchbox. I adore Birchbox because I get a cute little box of beauty samples every month. From tinted moisturizer to lip gloss to wrinkle cream, it’s such a delight to get. Go online and fill out your skin care questionnaire, and then get a monthly box with products you’d otherwise never try out. It’s basically like testing out stuff at Sephora without having to drive all the way there or deal with parking or salespeople. Win-win. You can easily gift someone a subscription as well. Perfection!

Chemex Coffee Maker. This is a DELIGHTFUL pour over coffee maker for that extra special coffee snob in your life. I put on gifts post one year, and a dear friend ended up surprising me with it which meant the world to me. I use it as my special treat coffee in the afternoons with heavy whipping cream. Mmmmm.

Theme T-Shirts. This has become a go-to for me every year with Greg. One year, I got him t-shirt that said Happy Happy Happy because he was in an “I just discovered Duck Dynasty” phase. The next year, I got one that said Catalina Wine Mixer from the movie Step Brothers (don’t judge me!) There are all kinds of awesome t-shirts you can find for that guy in your life that is so hard to shop for: Dillon Panthers Football (from Friday Night Lights), Stay Classy San Diego (Anchorman), or Ma! Meatloaf! from Wedding Crashers. Just Google your man’s favorite movie name and add ‘t-shirt’ to the end, and you’ll find a bazillion options. It’ll totally make his day. (I speak from experience.)
