EPISODE 71: MEET KEZIA MCNAB (and a Giveaway!)

BE MISSIONAL & BUILD WEEK 1-01

Kezia

After living in Hawaii for over ten years, and traveling the world falling in love with the nations, Kezia McNab has finally settled in Colorado with her husband Ashton, and is expecting a little boy this summer! After spending much of her twenties in missions, and a season of not being able to go back overseas, she has slowly learned to have joy and contentment serving God in whatever circumstance He puts her in. She now devotes herself to working for Shining Light International and invests in the people of Pakistan every day from right here in the US. She is so thankful to still be involved in what God is doing to bless the Pakistani people, and loves that He allows her to be a part of what He is doing no matter where she is. Find out more about Shining Light International, the organization Kezia works for, by clicking here. And here’s the link to the article she wrote for incourage. And be sure to visit her blog

A MESSAGE FROM SARA:

Happy Monday Be Friends!  I am so, so excited for you to meet a new friend of mine, Kezia.  There is nothing more exciting for me then to see how God brings people together.

Last summer Monica and I were able to attend an amazing conference called Allume. If you are a blogger, you might want to check it out (allume.com) because it is rich with resources and encouragement for the blogger/writer. As if the speakers were not fantastic enough, one of my most absolute favorite parts of the conference was perusing the tables of all of the vendors that were there. These vendors weren’t just ordinary people selling ordinary products; these were people living a mission selling products to change the lives of people.

If you haven’t picked up on this yet, I am a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl…flip flops and a sloppy bun, not a whole lot of jewelry or makeup…just a whole lot of simple comfort. So, at the conference, I decided that one of the ways I would support these ministries was to purchase their t-shirts. As I shopped the tables and met amazing women, I shared the idea with Monica of how cool would it be if we could team up with a few of these ministries and somehow connect with them on our podcast. I think this is where God started to shape the Be Missional series.

One of my favorite tables was this ministry called Shining Light International. I had never heard of them before, but I loved their t-shirt (ha!), their purpose, and their people. Kezia and I met at that conference and exchanged cards and briefly spoke of idea of having them be a part of a podcast at some point. Kezia would check in with me once in a while just seeing if the time was right; little did she know what God was cooking up with this series. At first we thought that we would really be spot lighting Shining Light International. However, in my opinion we are really telling Kezia’s story…a story of calling, passion, obedience…a calling of Being Missional where God leads and not just where we want.

I hope you will sit back and enjoy meeting my new friend. She has been an inspiration to me and is to so many others. God is using her right where she is, and I’m not even sure she knows the impact she is having. She is touching the lives of Pakistani people. She is touching the lives of women in the states. She is touching the lives of her growing family.

She is Missional!

And the most exciting part? We’re doing a giveaway of one of the Shining Light scarves! Enter via Rafflecopter below, and the winner will be picked next weekend. Good luck!
