EPISODE #230-UNWELCOMED PAUSES

This week, Tracy leads us in a discussion about Unwelcomed Pauses in life–the ones that are unplanned, unforeseen, unexpected, and inconvenient. How can we navigate these pauses well, and even thrive in them?

THIS WEEK’S VERSES:

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28)

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.” (Isaiah 55:8-9)

“Great is our Lord, and abundant in power; his understanding is beyond measure.” (Psalm 147:5)

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” (Psalm 34:18)

“Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints. (Psalm 116:15)

“Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.” (Matthew 5:4)

“Praise be to the God and father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of all compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.” (2 Corinthians 1:3)

“In the world you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer, for I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)

PRACTICAL APPLICATION:

  1. Acknowledge the un-welcomed pause (see it for what it is).
  2. Invite Jesus into it.
  3. Grieve it.
  4. Reach out to your community.  Don’t do this alone.
  5. Know that God will strengthen you to the end.
