A MESSAGE FROM SARA:

How exciting is it for Be Still Be Free to be “linked up” with Jen Hatmaker today??

It all began several weeks ago when she posted the opportunity to win a free e-copy and print-copy of her revised and expanded book Interrupted.  Immediately, I entered to win hoping that I would be one of the lucky winners. To be honest though, I didn’t get too excited because usually I just don’t have much luck in winning. (I think this is because God has a fabulous sense of humor and believes that I can learn more if I have to work hard for it.) Well, this time He must have thought give this girl this book because she needs it. No seriously, I think God’s timing is always perfect and He knew I needed to read this book.

Jen has done an amazing job putting into words God’s call on her and her family’s life for radical transformation in how they live out their faith on earth. There was a stirring in her heart from God to reevaluate the way they “did” faith. So many of us, so often, get stuck in the stir and never transform.

[Or as our recent series Be Transformed and Fly would say…we get stuck in the cocoon waiting and maybe even comfortable and never break out and fly!]

At Be Still Be Free, we emphasize the idea of being before doing. Of BE-coming and not just arriving. Jen’s husband, Brandon, said that “as we consider ‘what’ we do, may we constantly be reminded ‘how’ we do it.” We might not have the answer to all of our questions, but what is important is that we are asking the questions…and as Jen says…the right questions.

Monica and I believe that there is a revival stirring in the hearts of many. This is a revival of the soul…of true meaning of agape love. A love for God and a love for others. This is a kind of love that knows it is not about us but about God…a love that is willing to stand apart. This is a kind of revival that says we want to change the world’s perspective of Christianity and truly exemplify Christ-likeness.

If you are willing to get out of the comfort zone (which, if you are following Jen then you probably are!), then take the time to read this book just for the sake of being inspired to be different.

Be inspired to be on the bottom.

Be inspired to serve selflessly.

Be inspired to accept the audacious love of Christ and allow Him to use you to share that love with others.

In doing that, together we can cause revival!
